The Ajanta Caves are located in Maharastra State, India. It is in the care of the Archaeological Survey Of India & UNESCO World Heritage Site

The caves include paintings of human, geometrical, animal and floral motifs & rock-cut sculptures. Ajanta Caves Paintings are the best example for tempura technique. After chiselling the surface of the rock, different layers of clay mixed with ferruginous earth, sand, fibrous materials of organic origin have been applied which have been finished with thin coat of lime wash. After making bold outlines over this surface, then the spaces have been filled with requisite colors. The color-scale is extremely simple and limited. The pigments used for the paintings are Kaolin, Shell White, Lead White, Red Ochre, Yellow Ochre, Lamp Black, Terre Verte & Lapis Lazuli.

I have visited Ajanta Caves on 22 December 2021 and totally dissolved in the mesmerising beauty of it. I was highly inspired by the paintings of Ajanta Caves and wished to create some floral paintings of it in printable digital artwork form & by using watercolors as well (by using same set of colors used in the original paintings). Henceforth I am launching the collection "AJANTA CAVE FLORALS" in the form of artprints from my digital artworks.

High quality printing done on 300 GSM paper. The artprint will need to be framed behind glass.

Fill your home with beauty, purity & peace by owning this most unique artwrok.
